You were not made to be small.
🌟
Let me be honest. There are times where I will excel in something, but I quickly fade away because I think little of myself and lose confidence. This is an issue I’ve struggled with all my life.
🌟
But I am here to tell you, I was not made to be small and neither are you. We were made to be the best version of ourselves.
🌟
I do not need to shrink inside and think less of myself.
🌟
I don’t want to be braggadocios, but I HAVE accomplished great things in my life and I need to be proud and grow from those things.
🌟
And YOU have done amazing things too. Be proud of those accomplishments.
🌟
I don’t need to get overwhelmed and think “that was a one time thing or luck”, but rather “way to go girl, you are awesome. Go do more awesomeness.”

I am in the middle of listening to “Girl, Wash Your Face” on my runs and while I work and I just love it so much. It has inspired and encouraged me. And this chapter speaking on the lie of “you are small” has been perfect for my ears to hear.

I know there are tons of friends reading this book right now. What is your favorite chapter?

I’m pretty sure I hit the jackpot when I married Ben.

Little did I know back when we were in our early 20s how much of a great family man he would be in addition to being a great husband.
He chooses family ❤️ over his job and over his extracurricular activities.The boys and I are his life and he is ours.

Today we have been married for 16 years. That is just mind blowing to me. Not because we’ve struggled and I can’t believe we are still together (what couple hasn’t). But because it’s just crazy to think it’s been that long. He knows me better than anyone in the entire world, and I love that so much. I can barely write that without crying and getting choked up.

I mean, we met when we were 19 and 20 years old. We’ve basically grown up together in a marriage.

Weekly, people tell me how great Ben is and how kind he is. I quickly agree and feel proud that he is my husband.

He may were crocs, but I still love him. And thankfully he still loves me even with my four-day-unwashed-hair. 💛🎉🤗

Have you ever reviewed the journey your life has taken?
I love how my path in photography has turned out. When I went to #texastechuniversity and graduated with my photography degree, I hadn't planned on taking pictures of people. I wanted to photograph landscapes. I didn't think to much about being a portrait photographer. Honestly, the idea scared me.
But then a really cool thing happened. God had a plan for me. Not my plan, but His. It took three years to prepare me for where I am today. (Little did I know I was on that journey at the time)
Now here I am 15 years after I graduated college, photographing people-families, kids, babies, college and high school seniors, weddings, and commercial work. It has brought so much joy.
I can't imagine not being a portrait photographer. The connections I have with the people I photograph is such a huge blessing. I am thankful for my story.
I am still on a journey, and I am excited to look back in the next 5-10 years to see what God has planned for me.
