Whitley.Senior.New Mexico Photographer

Whitley came in from Artesia, NM for her senior session. She is a gifted girl who loves the arts. She loves doing graphic design stuff as well as photography. She has learned so much in her photography class already about photoshop, and just recently learned about animation. How fun! Her mom came to the session with her and she was so much help with the "popper" (reflector). It made such a difference. Thanks!I was very excited about Whitley's outfits when she emailed them to me a couple of nights before. I want her boots! I'm so thankful for the senior sessions because they give me ideas for my own outfits because I don't know what is cool anymore. Take a look and see what I'm talking about.

Margaret.New Mexico Senior Photographer

I've never met Margaret before, but as she got out of her car and we said hello I could feel her sweet energy and bubbly personality. A few fun things about her are; she loves to ride horses and used to be a barrel horse racer. And if she could make money scrapbooking for the rest of her life she'd do that.(I bet she could) She is graduating this year for NMSU and has plans for the future to be a business women but secretly would like to be outside riding her horse. I think she should find a job that allows her to be on her horse as she's doing her daily work. Wouldn't that be fun?I also had a goal to accomplish with her session. She told me she never likes pictures of herself, and I told her I'm going to change that. And she replied back, "thats why I chose you." So then my mind is thinking, okay-I really hope I get some great shots of her so she won't hesitate looking at her pictures. I took a round of pictures and as I'm looking at them I'm thinking these are beautiful so I had to show her. I handed her the camera a little nervously and her response made my heart happy. She loved it. She thought she looked beautiful and rightly so because she was just that-beautiful. She's a brave girl too. We saw this big 'ol snake skin and instantly my toes curled up and my body froze. She reassured me it was okay, and I believed her. And it was okay. Thankfully we didn't run into any snakes that day. Check out the snake skin below... Thanks Margaret for hiring me as your photographer. Have fun following your dreams.

Amanda.Teen.New Mexico Photographer

Amanda was due for her individual shots so we just did some after the family session. She is such a beautiful girl. This is the 3rd year photographing her individuals and my goodness she has changed so much. She used to be a beautiful girl but now shes a foxy momma :)

Schaap Family. New Mexico Photographer

This is the 3rd or 4th year I've photographed the Schaap family and I am so blessed to be this families photographer. They are AMAZING! I love love love being around them because they just get you all goofy and know how to have a good time. We even went on a mudding adventure looking for the perfect spot in those tall corn looking things (I forgot what they're called) So when I'm with the Schaap's, I know I will laugh, have an adventure and for that moment they make me feel like I'm part of their family.

The Hip Hold. New Mexico Photographer

This is how to hold a child when they are getting too big to hold like a baby. I took this shot from a family session this evening and I kept coming back to it as I reviewed the images. It made me laugh because Benson is now 30 lbs plus, and I'm telling you my back and my arms are feeling it. I'm sure all of your moms can relate :) Have a happy, and restful evening.

Carson Family. New Mexico Photographer

Mom of this family called me today asking if I could do a session tonight. She started to tell me why it was so urgent, but I stopped her because i knew it was too hard to explain and I already knew what she was going to say. Their little boy is going through some health issues right now and as she is trying to figure out what to do with this new bit of information, she realized they need a family picture because it had been a while. So tonight we headed out to a field and just hung out and played and I watched them as a family. They are a wonderful, and sweet family. Their boys are all so handsome and incredibly friendly. I enjoyed being with this family tonight for many reasons, but one was just to have fun. Please say continued prayers for this family. Pray for strength in the parents and braveness in the little boy. God is already taking care of them and I pray we will put our trust in him.

Thank you Carson family for the enjoyable evening. You have a great group of boys on your hands :)

H.S Senior Season.New Mexico and Texas Photographer

***This is the last day to enter to win a free high school senior session!! Giving away a free session...read below!

The high school senior season is starting up. It is one of my most favorite sessions and I'm so looking forward to it. I look at senior sessions as a way to really get creative and be daring. I look for ideas in fashion magazines like Vogue, InStyle and Teen Vogue. I also get ideas from Anthropologie and JCrew catalogs.

I research through magazines for all of my sessions and weddings, and this is typically what I'm looking for:

Outfits/accessories

lighting

location

setting/scenery

poses

props

So, my whole point in telling you all of this is because...I want to give a regular senior session away for FREE.  Let me say it again.  I AM GIVING AWAY A REGULAR SENIOR SESSION FOR  FREE.

Here's what you have to do.  You can nominate yourself or someone.  Send me an email to cristy@cristycross.com telling me why you or someone you know deserves the session for free.   Thats all.  It's as simple as that.  The person has to be a 2010 senior in high school and does not have to live in Clovis. I have clients from New Mexico, Kansas, Dallas, Austin, Nebraska, California, Arkansas, and New York.  So it doesn't matter where you live :)

I will take emails all the way through the end of September and will announce the winner October 15th.

I really really want to give a senior a free session so please don't hesitate to nominate yourself.  If your not a senior, nominate someone you know that you think deserves it.

(This does not apply to those who have already paid for a senior session)
